About Me

I'm an elementary education major at BYU. I love learning, being silly, and making people smile. I'm your average five foot nothin' college student, I guess you could say. I love my life. I love my church.

Homecomings

That's the title of this blog post, I guess. Typing vomit. Similar to word vomit, only you type it instead of say it. So you are saying it virtually instead of with your vocal chords.

Enough of that.

Well, today I got a request for this thing called "GoodReads" on facebook. So I joined it, just nonchalantly. Then it turned out to be the best choice I've ever made--today at least! It's a fantastic resource, especially considering that I'm going to be an elementary school teacher! I was like a kid in a flower shop. Meaning me in a flower shop. Or a kid in a candy store. Anyways, it has a list of books, then you can rate them and then they keep on making new lists of books! And you can mark books that you want to read. The only books that I looked at today were the children's books (obviously) and it was seriously so sensational! (alliteration) Check. It. Out.

As I sit here on my couch, I am hoping that I won't fall into the huge gap made because apparently the cushions are too small...? I really am confused about how that happened, but I trust that I will learn from this experience and become a better person.

Well, this is a draft that I started last week...so *three years later*

Today, my friends, was a momentous occasion. Why, you may ask? Well, Mark MacKay is home and my dearest Becca and I trekked up to Alpine, UT in inclement weather to go see his homecoming talk. And boy, was it just great to see him! There is nothing better than seeing your friends after a long time, and knowing that they served the Lord with all their heart. And that is certainly what Mark has done. There are some friends you just know that you'll have forever and Mark is one of them. I am so grateful to be so blessed!

This was the night Mark opened his mission call

Among other things that happened this weekend: I ate more junk food than I care to admit, and I think I've officially been convinced that bottle caps, while delicious, should not be eaten by the hundreds. And definitely not in conjunction with Cosmic Brownies. You live, you learn. I got to have a sleepover with Brittany Stahly and party with Heaths and Lisee, which was just so nice. Again with the friends thing: how did I get such wonderful friends?!

I need to go tend to my herbs. I just remembered that they are sitting in a bag, dying, on my kitchen floor. Here's hoping I didn't waste a two dollars at the Kansas Farmer's Market!
