No indeed, I am talking about recent life highlights.
Lately when people ask me how I've been and what I've been up to...all I can honestly say is that my life basically consists of school and work. The crazy part about that is that my life isn't even boring at all. Not one bit. And I think it's mostly because everyone around me is having so many happy things happen in their lives, that lately all I can do is just be happy for people. That, my friends, is a really great feeling. It's so wonderful to rejoice with people.
Don't get me wrong. Happy things happen directly to me too. For example, today I got an email from the mother of one of my very best friends from freshman year. Before you say "that's weird" the context is that he's on a two-year mission in Colorado for our church. The email gave us his flight information--he comes home on May 25, 2012! Can you believe it?! I can't wait to see another wonderful friend. I am so proud of all those boys. Getting their letters over the last two years have been such a faith building experience. They are such wonderful examples to me of obedience, faith, and love. How have I been blessed to have such wonderful people in my life?
ALSO. I register for classes in 13 minutes. I cannot even begin to express with words how excited I am for my schedule next year. 2012-2013 school year is going to be the bees knees. I feel in my bones that this just might be the best year yet. I'm serious.
When I think about how awesome the Fall is going to be, joy wells in my heart and I feel like this:
I'm willing to bet you didn't know happiness like this was possible in adult form. But it is. Talk to me about this upcoming fall, and you can get a little taste of it. If you want, that is.
Other things that have made me happy lately include (but are not limited to...):
- my dinner group
- Kristin's dinner group after party
- my roommates and all their happy things
- my mom and my dad and all of my siblings
- "Teheran"
- too much candy
- banana cake
- exercising with Allie
- serendipity
- GENERAL CONFERENCE IS THIS WEEKEND
- flowers popping up out of the ground
- my hair staid in my french braid today...it got a little messy, but it looked so indy.
- eating lunch with my friend, Ryan. That is always a good time.
- reading the Book of Mormon
- prayers
Well folks, that's what is making me smile.
The world is a happy place if we make it happy. So let's choose to be cheerful and spread that joy wherever we go.
