Here's the cool part: I have never been happier!
It all started on October 23, 2012. That was my very first day of practicum. I met my mentor teacher and substituted for a kindergarten class. Ever since that day, I have spent the vast majority of my life in the most brilliant second grade class this world has ever seen. I have been planning lessons and teaching lessons and learning lessons. My class is full of wonderful children. Such good hearts, overflowing with enthusiasm, and to top it all off: they are hilarious. I wish I could tell you about each and every one of them, because they are each so special, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal. Suffice it to say, I love them. I love doing exactly what I love...and [[not to brag]] I love that I'm good at it. There is a long way and a lot left to learn, but I am living the dream my children, and there is nothing anyone can do to change that.
In other news, I bought two new journals this week. I finished my last one. It feels so good. I found a practically identical one at the BYU Bookstore...and since I already knew I liked the paper and stuff (see last nerdy journal post) I bought it. Among my purchase was also a 5-year, line-a-day journal that I'm really excited about. Fingers crossed I do it for the full five years. Here's what they look like:
Oh, journal photo shoots. So hot right now.
I've been pretty in tune with nature lately. Oh, you want proof? Rude, but okay. Last Saturday--hiked around Provo Canyon--at night. Basically I climbed a mountain with naught but good company to assist. I didn't bring no shoes or nothing! Okay, I brought shoes...that's beside the point. The point is it was a lot of fun, we didn't get eaten and no one fell down the mountain by accident. Last night was the first snowball fight of the year! All I'm really saying is that it was awesome and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Throwing snow at people you care about it is a really good outlet for rage. And by rage, I mean affection.
Soup is the soup of the day. Honestly, it's been at the top of my cravings list for a while. So if anyone is looking for a date to a soup and sandwich place, you just let me know.
Other things that have been really great: Taylor Swift's new CD. #sorryImnotsorrythatIloveit #Iknowhashtagsdonothingonthiswebsite. Bottom line: I think I actually like every single song on that album. Other thing that I love:
ELISE AND DAVE ARE ENGAGED! Happiest day of my life. I love it when eternal bliss is on the menu, and it sure is for my dear friends.
